At Aexus, we’re proud to be a global leader in sales outsourcing, and go-to-market support, helping innovative technology companies scale faster and smarter to new markets. With a team of 100+ passionate professionals across Europe and North America, we combine deep market expertise with a hands-on, people-first approach.

In our Colleagues in the Spotlight series, we highlight the talented individuals behind our success; those who work every day to build strong partnerships, open new markets, and drive meaningful growth for our clients. Today, we’re excited to share the story of Ricardo Wehrmann, a valuable member of our DACH-team.

Hi Ricardo, please tell us a bit about yourself.

German by passport, but emotionally I’ve always been half Andalusian. I grew up visiting Sevilla from a young age, and every trip made me think, “One day I’m going to live here… eat tapas every day… and pretend I can dance flamenco.” Eventually, I made that plan a reality. My family is here, and I genuinely love the culture, the music, the food, the people, and of course, the weather, which definitely beats German winters. Sevilla simply feels like home. I’ve now been with Aexus for about 18 months, working as a Sales Development Representative, focused on the DACH market, and I’m currently progressing along the career path toward becoming a Business Development Manager. Outside of work, I love training, doing CrossFit, reading, learning, and improving my English – which seems to be a never-ending journey, but we’re getting there!

What first drew you to Aexus and your current role?

Before joining Aexus, I worked as a personal trainer with my own online coaching business. I handled my own sales, B2C marketing and client acquisition. When I discovered Aexus, the interview process felt incredibly warm and human, which made a huge difference. I also loved the idea of transitioning into B2B and tech sales, working with innovative companies and being part of an international environment where I could level up both my sales and my language skills.

What part of your role do you find most energizing or fun?

I genuinely enjoy market research. I know that sounds a bit nerdy, but I love figuring out whom the right personas are and how to approach them within a go-to-market strategy. And I also really enjoy our internal calls: they’re a mix of problem-solving, good energy and the occasional laugh that keeps the day light.

Which project or partner interaction has taught you the most recently?

One of my recent partners surprised me the most. At first, I thought, “VR glasses for drone simulation? Let’s see what happens.” And suddenly we were booking more meetings than expected. That taught me not to underestimate niche solutions in B2B sales. Some others really helped me sharpen my messaging through structured feedback, especially around objection handling. And with other partners I’ve been learning a lot because their setup is quite demanding – but the deeper you go into their processes, the more you understand how to pitch them effectively.

How does your work connect to Aexus’ mission of supporting innovative B2B Tech companies?

Almost every partner I work with is highly innovative – whether it’s AI, VR, logistics tech or HR controlling. My role helps these companies enter new markets, start real conversations with the right prospects, and get early traction. So, what I do day-to-day directly supports Aexus’ mission of helping innovative tech companies succeed internationally.

If you had to sum up your Aexus journey in one sentence, what would it be?

A constant learning journey across different technologies, markets and innovative companies.

Thank you so much for your time, Ricardo, we are happy to have you on the team!
