Colleague in the Spotlight: Inge de Kleijne

While you can find our entire team on this website, we think those short biographies don’t do them justice. This month’s colleague in the spotlight: Inge de Kleijne!

What did you do before you joined Aexus?
‘I have been working in a sales/advisory position for nine years now. After graduating I started working at Rabobank, fulfilling different positions within the Consumer Banking and Insurance domains. I then went to a reseller of disposable products, where I worked in customer and sales support, and worked as a sales executive at Central Point, for Finance, Banking and Insurance customers. Two years ago, I joined Aexus.

So how did you end up at Aexus?
‘Eric Haeken approached me a few times. At first, I decided to hold off, because I was happy about my position. Still, working with innovative technologies sounded very interesting, whereas in my former job I was focusing more on traditional hardware. Plus, up until then I had always been working at the company offices and I was curious to find out what working on the road would be like. I decided to go over for a cup of coffee. And here we are, almost two years later.’

What do you like most about working at Aexus?
‘I know everybody gives the same answer, but I am going to say it again: the fact that not one single day is the same. One day, I can be visiting an event, networking all day long, while I can be at the office the next day doing outreaches. This keeps the job fresh. At the same time, this means it can be quite hard to structure my days. But after two years I can say it is possible – as long as you accept that your work is never really done. Work at Aexus is dynamic and can certainly be challenging. However, I find working with cool and innovative parties very satisfying.’

How did you end up working in tech?
‘I studied communication and then completed a post-Bachelor Customer Relationship & Experience Management. I did not necessarily choose to work in tech, but my career sort of led me this way: I started in Finance, then switched to Hardware, and I am now working in Innovative Tech and Software. I enjoy thinking about customer experience and the customer journey. I also read a lot about many different subjects and like to listen to podcasts when I am on the road. Moreover, I have affinity for agriculture: I grew up on my parents’ farm. Working at Aexus allows me to combine my many interests with technological innovation. In that sense, this job really is the best of both worlds.’

Do you have any plans for the future?
‘I am afraid I am too much a here and now kind of person to really plan ahead. I sometimes feel like I don’t think about it enough. But trying to maintain a healthy work-life balance is certainly something I am constantly thinking about. I recently became a mother, and my family is very important to me. Still, I do want to become even more of a specialist. I know a lot about agriculture and customer experience, but there is still so much left to learn. I can’t wait to continue!’
