Nicole Mooren

“The diversity of my job is one of the things I like best. It keeps me sharp and encourages me to keep going and learn new things!”

Challenging working environment

Nicole started working for Aexus in 2014. One of the reasons for her to come and work at Aexus was the challenging working environment and the fact that she could collaborate with fresh tech & IT startups. Nicole has an entrepreneurial spirit, loves the diversity her job and her friends can always wake her up at night for a surprise visit with destination unknown. Time to find out what she likes about her job as a business development manager!

Amazing, coffee lovin’ colleagues

Nicole: “The Aexus’ team has a very strong drive and a lot of energy. I have a lot of crazy but amazing colleagues. Most of my colleagues are true coffee lovers, just like me, so most days begin with a cup of coffee and some small talk.”

Diversity

Can you tell us what an average working day looks like? “Of course I can!  What my day looks like obviously depends on my schedule. Is it an office day, with some internal meetings, conf calls and web sessions, or have I scheduled one or more meetings? My job is very diverse. This forces me to stay sharp at all times. In my previous job, I focused on just one product. Here at Aexus, we get to work with a wide variety of products, technologies and solutions. We get to know many different companies and learn how they operate. This diversity is one of the things I like best.”

Related – Business Development Manager Nick Mobertz: “I like working for highly innovative clients and partners and make a difference by helping them to accelerate sales and grow their business.”

New initiatives are always welcome

Besides being a business development manager, Nicole has managerial ambitions. She took the responsibility to coach a small group of colleagues in order for them to grow as a professional and thus as a team. Nicole: “When Aexus offered me the possibility to help others with their professional development, I accepted the task with both hands. This is one of the things I like a lot about this organization; once you have proven yourself, new initiatives are always welcomed and encouraged by the management. I can really contribute to the success of Aexus and make a difference. That is very valuable to me.”

Corporate events

What kind of events and corporate retreats does Aexus organize? Can you tell us a bit about that? “Personally I liked the Escape Room in Amsterdam best. Trying to escape as a team was quite a challenge, but it brought us closer together and we won! We also went on a flying course at one time, and we attended a skid course once. Those were pretty cool events too!”

Never stop asking questions

If you had to name one thing, what would be the most valuable lesson you learned up to now? Nicole: “I guess that would be to never stop asking questions. The more you ask, the more you’ll learn. Or, as an American novelist once said; ‘The art and science of asking questions is the source of all knowledge’. And so it is. This motivates me to approach every appointment with just one clear goal: getting all the information I need. Never settle for less.”
